No Rake?
Think back in the annals of SCE history (that is, just over two months) and you'll likely recall before we got embroiled in so much two-bit social commentary and armchair political analysis, this site had a different aim. That's right, this was supposed to be a poker blog. So, alas, today I show you a crazy hand and sing the praises of "free" online poker.
Rake free poker has been bantered about in the poker community for at least a couple years and many major sites are now refunding at least a portion of a player's rake in the form of rebates and/or promotions.
But World Poker Exchange is the first site to go live literally rake free. In fact, the site does charge a rake, but the entire thing is refunded at the end of each week. I played yesterday at a $50 No Limit Table for around 3 hours and I'm already owed $22.76.
Just imagine the money you could get back if you were a high roller like Alan Milesky!
The logic, I assume with some certainty, is that the increased traffic and publicity will drive players to the site's already successful sportsbook and casino.
In fact, it's what those in the retail game call a "loss leader."
Loss Leader
Is all your money going to the "house?"
